Friends please help me with some of the question for filling 485.
1. In what status did you last enter US? My wife entered US in H4 in 2005 and then converted to H1B in 2006. So what should I write here? Is it 'DEPENDENT' or H4?
2. Format of covering letter if any needed?
3. Do I have to mail I485, EAD and AP to different addresses or all goes to one single address in one envalope per applicat?
4. In anotherthread it says "5. Completed Period of Stay form. Completed in chronological order starting with first entry into US, and all changes of status, extensions, exits and entries, down to your current status. ". Is this needed and if needed is there any specific format?

Now we have to run after BECs to make sure they send papers (approved labor) to our respective lawyers. We are reduced to being treated as paupers. Just can't understand how does it take more than 4 weeks to mail papers after the status on the website shows "certified"

Can one take a chest X-ray prior to TB test since it is highly likely for a person of Indian origin to test positive?
Also, does an X-ray taken in the last 6 months count or should this be taken in the week/month of the TB test?

I did not see Immigrationvoice.org name. It would have helped if he had posted a link to the thread so that people would have known how to go about making the voices heard. Without any advocacy effort, that post will not have any significance to fix this problem.

Dear alkg,
USCIS has no order in processing these applications, I applied on July 27th my checks are not cashed yet. One of my colleagues who works for the same company and used the same attorney applied on August 17th and got his checks cashed. All I can think of is that they have no FIFO basis. I think they are storing all the applications and grab the applications they can reach. May be our application is in the bottom of a pile.
These are my thoughts and I hope we will hear something before the end of October

If the person is already visiting and not contributing do you think you can convince them...? You cannot wakeup a person who is just pretending. There are lots of people coming here to post their issues and get answer. But don�t want to take part in anything until it�s affecting them or just have junk in their mind and call it as principle.
They find 100 lame excuses for not participating but could not even find one reason to participate. You are right if the person is not aware of IV�but what about people who are aware but wants others to work for their issues.

Well, it is just not easy to convince people and organize people so easily that all you do is a "holler" and everyone follow. It takes time for people to realize.
Running public organization like this needs a very different kind of PR skills. A cheerful, caring, hopeful face brings in more support. Believe me thats how people look up to leaders.

The article says that politicians who oppose illegal-immigrants asked for a specific restriction - rebate receipients must have SSN. Their goal is to deny any benefits to illegal immigrants. With this wide swoop of brush, they are punishing H4 dependents. This is very much akin to the Michigan Drivers license issue.

I got my EAD approval on 26th, spouse on 28th
my AP approval on 29th, spouse on 31st
Got my EAD card, its valid for 2 years.
I had so many dreams of the 485 approval, damn the karisma that control our dreams.
